Crew Cab w/ a Wrecker bed?

Need some help visualizing a thought and opinions needed.

I have seen many 80's model chevy crew cab's w/ western hauler beds and really like the look of them. But what if you couldn't afford and/or find a western hauler bed and a very simlar old wrecker bed was available. Same overall design but without any wrecker boom, just the bed. The only big difference is the over all length of the bed. The wrecker bed appears to be much shorter behind the rear wheels. I don't know exactly how much, but the rear of the truck frame whould have to be cut off.

I think it would have to be cut off,you'd have to do some measuring,But I think it would be cool if you did it right.
